The NutcracKer's Guide to Getting UnPlugged!
Our show will feature some audience favorite dances from our popular Jazz Hip Hop Nutcracker(c) with lots of new dances and a whole new story! This story centers the Nutcracker as the guide for three kids who have fallen into their devices and need some giant help to reconnect with themselves and their world.
TNGTGU will be presented Saturday December 11 & Sunday December 12 at GALA Hispanic Theatre in Columbia Heights, Washington DC. Ticket details coming soon!

Jazz Hip Hop Nutcracker 2019 was a blast!
It was our 20th Anniversary and we couldn't have been happier to return to the Publick Playhouse in Hyattsville, Maryland! The Playhouse had been a home for JHHN for 8 years from 2006-2013. We had looked forward to resuming our performing relationship with the Playhouse. Unfortunately the global pandemic intervened and JHHN 2020 was cancelled.

Jazz Hip Hop Nutcracker©, Momentum Dance Theatre's fabulous, original modern spin on the traditional holiday show, has been wowing and charming audiences since 2000. JHHN© tells the dancing story of transformation of two kids through the arts. Music is Duke Ellington's excellent version of the Nutcracker plus contemporary and classic pop, funk, and salsa. Momentum's professional company shares the stage with our Jazz Hip Hop Academy students plus guest artists. Looking for a tree? Nope. Clara? uhuh. Mice and soldiers? How about Rats and Ninjas?! Our cast of over 35 includes some of the best professional dancers from New York and the DC area, and the talented kids in our Jazz Hip Hop Academy. All in all, not your mother's nutcracker!
